SECONDARY

In the Secondary years, First Steps School emphasizes creative yet critical thinking and developing independent learning skills. The Secondary School curriculum prepares students for their future education with an increasing number of specialist subject teachers.

Girls and boys follow a broad, balanced curriculum including English Language and Literature, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Religious Studies, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Art, Performing Arts, PE & Games and PSCHE (Personal, Social, Citizenship and Health Education).

The Grade 8 students appear for the Cambridge Checkpoint Exams for Science, Math and English. These exams are diagnostic tests which are marked by CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) and provide analysis of the students’ strengths and weaknesses in these core subjects. They also serve as an international certification recognizing that the student is at par with international standards for secondary education.
